Autumn Funeral (Helford River)

It was a privilege to be asked to do the flowers for the funeral of a very distinguished gentleman.  I had known the Major for some 12 years and he was a man who commanded respect and admiration.

All the flowers and foliage I selected came from the garden at Trebah and I was able to choose those with particular significance.  The Hydrangea blooms were the colour of the Parachute Regiment; the foliage from the Tree Ferns and the iconic Chusan Palms symbolize the exotic nature of this wonderful garden; Japanese Magnolia bearing its velvety buds with the promise of spring flowers; and other flowers which I knew to be personal favourites of the Major.
